WINDSOR, Colo. - Since suffering a paralyzing motorcycle accident in 2008, former Eagles player Les Borsheim has made incredible improvements in his recovery effort. As his motto goes, "Small Steps, Big Prayers," and if it weren't for the annual support from the Team Borsheim golf tournament, he wouldn't be able to make those small steps a reality. For information on how you can join Team Borsheim and participate in this year's tournament, download the registration and info form.

The funds raised via the annual Team Borsheim golf tournament go directly toward helping Les pay for the medical bills associated with his recovery. "The support I've received since my accident has been incredible, and I can't show my appreciation enough," said Borsheim. "My family and I will forever be grateful for the love and compassion that's been shown by the hockey community as a whole and fans in Northern Colorado in particular."

Les' father, Con, who has been a smiling mainstay at each of the past tournaments was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this summer, and fell victim to the disease just prior to his birthday on Father's Day. "My father was my biggest supporter, and I know he'll miss being at this year's tournament," said Les. "But I also know that he'll be there in spirit and that the continued recovery I'll be able to make because of this tournament will make him as proud as anything."

This year's tournament will start at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 31st at Pelican Lakes Golf & Country Club in Water Valley. For more information on how you can participate and help Les as a member of "Team Borsheim" -- either as a player or a sponsor -- please download the form or contact J.P. Puma at the Eagles' office by calling 970-686-SHOT (7468).
