A postponed away game in Owen Sound yesterday gave them more time to reflect and regroup after Friday's loss. They will be ready for action tonight. The OHL leading-67s are on a tear having won 20 of their last 21 games.
Generals Starting Five

Ottawa 67s - Cedrick Andree
Attendance: 4,858
1st Period:
The first shots of the game came at the five-minute mark on a 67s powerplay after Brett Neumann was sent to the box for slashing. Generals 'tender Kooy made a stretched glove save on an east-west pass to keep the game nil.
A Phil Tomasino crafted a beautiful pass to Tullio who was waiting in front of an empty net. Tullio missed the puck and it was picked up by Cameron Tolnai of the 67s. Tolnai made a pass to Adam Varga - who joined on a 2-on-1 rush. Varga beat Kooy with a shot for his second shorthanded goal of the season.
Tomasino was sent to the sinbin for slashing and the 67s were quick to capitalize. They set up in your Generals zone and Noel Hoefenmayer threw the puck on goal from the point. Alec Belanger was there to deflect the puck past Kooy to put the 67s up 2-0.
Nikita Okhotyuk threw a big hit on Dawson McKinney entering the 67s zone. Giovanni Vallati stood up for his teammate sending his gloves flying like confetti. Vallati stood his ground throughout the fight but was ultimately brought down. Vallati left headed to the locker room after the fight with help from a trainer, he would return later in the game.
The period ended 2-0 for the 67s, with Ottawa outshooting 9-4.
2nd Period:
The Generals started the period with a powerplay. They got they chances and were set up in the 67s zone. Ottawa got the puck out and Tomasino picked it up at the Gens blueline. He rushed the puck up center ice, and slid it over to Tullio breaking up the left wing. Tullio took a shot that beat Andree on the glove side - putting your Generals on the board bringing the goal differential to one.
Nico Gross, earned a four minute penalty with two minutes for cross checking and two minutes added for unsportsmanlike conduct. Oshawa mainly kept the puck in the neutral zone or the perimeter throughout the disadvantage. But with 17 seconds remaining in the kill, Mitchell Hoelscher scored.
Mitch Brewer and Daylon Groulx were each assessed minor penalties putting two minutes at four-on-four hockey. Neumann was excellent during this time skating the puck around the perimeter looking to pick his spot. He was in complete control of the play and found the right time to capitalize. He fired a shot from the right circle which Allan McShane deflected for his 18th goal of the season.
Shortly after, the game was tied by Jacob Winterton who buried the rebound of an initial shot by trade deadline acquisition Ryan Stepien.
Dawson McKinney entered into a bout of fisticuffs with 67s Yanic Crete and came out on top. The crowd went berserk afterwards as he waved his hands beckoning them to cheer more.
3rd Period:
Both teams exchanged chances throughout the period but the first goal would take 11:28 for OHL leading goal scorer Jack Quinn to put his 35th of the campaign past Jordan Kooy to uneven the balance of power.
A point shot from David Jesus was stopped by Andree who left a juicy rebound out front for Cole Resnick. The entire building thought that Resnick would pot it, but somehow Andree blocked the puck and covered for a whistle.
The Gens had a hard push to tie the game, including a heroic effort from Tomasino to keep the puck out of the empty orifice, but it wasn't enough as Hoelscher potted his second of the game giving the 67s the 5-3 win.
