Andreas Maxsø Earns First Team of the Matchday Honor After Equalizing with FC Dallas in Rapids' Victory

Center back Andreas Maxsø opened his Rapids account on Saturday night in dramatic fashion, putting away a header to equalize with FC Dallas. The Dane's run into the back post from the top of the box caught Dallas defenders unaware as they watched Connor Ronan's corner kick sail in over their heads, resulting in a 1-1 scoreline in the 31st minute.

"It's amazing," he said of the chance to score in front of a home crowd at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park for the first time. "I had some big chances at the beginning of the season where I didn't score so I'm happy to score today."

Maxsø was voted Man of the Match by the fans for his efforts, his second honor of the season.

The 2-1 victory catapulted by the defender's goal and Braian Galván's Panenka from the spot earned the Rapids' their first home win of the season.
