Anderson Shuts Down Storm on Tuesday

Lake Elsinore, CA - A night after being shut out in Lake Elsinore, the Quakes returned the favor, earning their sixth shutout of the year in a 6-0 win over the Storm on Tuesday night.

Isaac Anderson combined with three relievers on a seven-hit shutout, while the offense slugged four homers on their way to their fourth win in six second-half games.

Cristian Santana smacked two of the four home runs, as he put Rancho on the board in the second with his 11th of the year off Storm starter Angel Acevedo (0-1).

The score remained 1-0 until the sixth, when the Quakes scored five times, all coming via the long-ball. Cody Thomas smashed his fifth homer in the last six games before Santana hit his second of the night to make it 4-0. Logan Landon capped the frame with a two-run shot to left off reliever Steven Wilson, his eighth of the year to make it 6-0.

Anderson (2-5) completed five innings, scattering three hits while punching out four in the win. Ryan Moseley, Nolan Long and Jason Richman combined for the final four innings.

Rancho (4-2, 39-37) will take on the Storm in the third game of the four-game set on Wednesday morning at 11am. Dustin May (3-3) will throw for the Quakes, while the Storm will go with Michel Baez (2-5).

On Friday night, the Quakes will return to LoanMart Field, hosting Inland Empire in the opening game of a five-game series. Kike Hernandez Bobbleheads will be given away to 1,500 fans on Friday, June 29th, all thanks to Daisy IT. Game time is 7:05pm and gates open at 6:05pm.
