Anderson Placed on DL, Hill Reinstated from DL/Rehab Assignment

JACKSON, TENN. - The Seattle Mariners have announced the following roster moves that affect the Generals roster. RHP Matt Anderson has been placed on the 7-day DL and LHP Nick Hill has been reinstated from the DL and his recent rehab assignment with the AZL Mariners in Peoria, AZ. The moves are made prior to tonight's 6:05 p.m. game with Montgomery in Jackson.

Anderson, 22, has been placed on the disabled list. Anderson left his start on July 26 after the first inning with a back injury. In 13 starts for the Generals, Anderson is 3-5, with a 5.16 ERA (33ER/66.1IP). He has struck out 45 and walked 14, with opponents batting .297 against the native of Claremont, CA. Combined this season, Anderson is 6-7, with a 5.18 ERA (57ER/99.0IP) in 20 starts between High Desert and Jackson. He was signed by Seattle as a non-drafted free agent in 2012.

Hill, 29, has been activated from the disabled list and his recent rehab stint with the AZL Mariners. In 2 rehab outings, Hill allowed just 1 hit over 2.0 IP, recording 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Hill has appeared in 20 games this season between Jackson and AAA Tacoma, going 1-3, with an 8.59 ERA (21ER/22.0IP), with 12 walks and 8 strikeouts. Hill was Seattle's 7th round selection in 2007 out of Army.
