Norfolk Admirals News Release

ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Anaheim Ducks recalled goaltender John Gibson today from their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Norfolk Admirals.

Gibson, 21, started the 2014-15 season opener for Anaheim against his hometown Pittsburgh Penguins. A lower-body injury shelved the 21-year-old later in the schedule, leaving Gibson with just four games to show so far this year. In those four games, the second round draft pick in 2011 is 2-2-0, has a 2.28 goals-against average (GAA), .927 save percentage, and a shutout. Gibson's 11 games for the Admirals this season has him surrendering 2.07 goals per game and saving .935 percent of the shots faced. While in net for Norfolk, Gibson holds a 6-3-2 record with his most recent victory coming Friday night in a 3-0 shutout decision over Worcester.

The Admirals host a two-game set against the Syracuse Crunch this Friday and Saturday on Valentine ' s Day Weekend. The first game is slated for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
