SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Jan. 16, 2006 - On assignment from the Utah Jazz, Idaho's C.J. Miles scored 22 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Stampede to an 88-77 win over the Anaheim Arsenal Tuesday at the 2007 NBA Development League MLK Showcase at the Sioux Falls Arena.

The victory was Idaho's ninth consecutive and improved the Stampede to 14-7 in their battle with the Colorado 14ers for the top spot in the D-League Western Division race. Anaheim dipped to 8-14 with the loss.

"I thought C.J. did a great job of putting the ball on the ground," Idaho coach Bryan Gates said. "He got to the basket, which opened up his jump shot. We needed him tonight and got a good effort from him."

Despite shooting just 38-percent from the floor, six Idaho players scored in double figures. Ronell Taylor followed Miles with 14 points. Jeff Graves notched a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Peter John Ramos had 10 points and nine boards.

"Everybody thinks about the scouts being here, but I believe we did a good job of knowing the scouts come to see the teams that are winning. They come to see how guys play as a team," Miles said. "We just have so many guys that play. We don't have a guy that if we take him out of the game, we lose. We have so many guys that contribute."

Idaho started slow, trailing by as many as 15 in the first half. Anaheim took a 42-36 advantage to the locker room, but a 33-percent shooting night from the floor was too much for the Arsenal to overcome.

"We knew our shots would fall at some point," Gates said. "The biggest thing we talked about was playing defense without fouling. They only shot one free throw in the third quarter, so that was a great improvement."

Forward Jawad Williams led Arsenal scorers with 19 points and collected seven rebounds. Andre Owens added 16 points and James Augustine came off the bench to score 12. Tyler Smith had 10 rebounds in 18 minutes off the Anaheim bench.

Anaheim plays the Tulsa 66ers at 2 p.m. CT Wednesday in the final day of the Showcase. Idaho travels to Bakersfield Friday to face the Jam at 7:30 p.m. PT.
