SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Jan. 16, 2006 - Kevinn Pinkney scored 25 points and the Bakersfield bench collected 27 rebounds as the Jam rolled to a 99-89 victory to tip off the second day of the 2007 NBA Development League MLK Showcase at the Sioux Falls Arena.
"He's [Pinkney] really our best player and he had his legs under him today," Bakersfield coach Jim Harrick said. "We still need to not lose concentration and stop fouling as much as we do...stop fouling when it doesn't mean anything."
The victory snapped a six-game losing streak for Bakersfield and improved the Jam to 6-13. The loss was the 12th consecutive for Arkansas (6-14), equaling the league record set earlier this season by the Austin Toros.
"Anytime you're efficient on offense and play pretty well on defense you're going to have a decent game," Bakersfield guard Gerry McNamara said. "That was the case today."
McNamara finished with 17 points and Tony Bobbitt scored 10 of his 15 in the second half for Bakersfield.
Forward Justin Terrell led the RimRockers with 19 points and seven rebounds, while Matt Haryasz contributed 14 points and five boards. Terrell connected on 8-of-11 field goal attempts. Clay Tucker chipped in 13 points.
Bakersfield faces the Austin Toros tomorrow at 11 a.m. CT. Arkansas returns to Alltel Arena on Friday to host the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
