Hall Leads 66ers to 100-97 Victory Over T-Birds

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Jan. 16, 2006 -Mike Hall scored 17 points and collected 13 rebounds as the Tulsa 66ers slipped past the Albuquerque Thunderbirds, 100-97, in Tuesday's final game of the 2007 Development League MLK Showcase at the Sioux Falls Arena.

After being down by 10 points with five minutes play, Hall and Desmon Farmer, who finished with a game-high 21 points, brought the 66ers back down the stretch. Farmer's driving lay-up and three-pointer on back-to-back possessions with the game in the balance helped provide the final margin. A last ditch three-point attempt by Albuquerque's Joe Shipp fell short at the buzzer.

The 66ers improved to 10-11 with the win and Albuquerque dropped to 8-12.

"He [Hall] has a high basketball IQ and a nose for the ball," Tulsa coach Joey Meyer said. "Those two things are really special together.

"I looked at them and said a lot of teams lay down, but we're not going to and we didn't," Meyer said. "We played really hard the last couple minutes and made some plays."

Chris Rodgers led Albuquerque with 21 points, while Mo Charlo pitched in 18. Shipp finished with 15 and Duane Erwin 13 for the T-Birds. Denham Brown and Will Conroy both chipped in 16 for Tulsa.

The Thunderbirds lost despite out-rebounding the 66ers, 47-38, including getting 10 from Eddy Fobbs.

Tulsa finishes up Showcase action Wednesday at 2 p.m. CT against the Anaheim Arsenal. Albuquerque finishes a three-game road trip at the STAPLES Center against the Los Angeles D-Fenders Friday at 7 p.m. PT.
