Ams Ring in New Year with Dominate 6-1 Win over Chiefs

The boys ended the year the right way, with a full house and bang. The Americans outscored the Spokane Chiefs 6-1.

Things were off to a loud hot start at the Toyota Center. The Americans put up three goals in the first. Paycen Bjorklund scored the first followed by Jarod Newell's first WHL goal and Kyle Olson's insurance goal.

The boys also landed three short-handed goals tonight. Parker AuCoin scored two of them in the second and Blake Stevenson scored the third in the third with Kyle Olson and Dom Schiemann's help.

Chief, Jake McGrew, snuck pass Warm in the final 30 seconds allowing the Chiefs to land one before the end of the game.

The Americans outshot the Chiefs 35-22.

Final score AMS 6 - SPO 1. - The Americans will take on the Everett Silvertips at home this Friday, Jan. 4 at 7:05 p.m. Get your tickets at the Toyota Center Box Office or online at Ticketmaster.
