Royals Ring in New Year with OT Victory over ICE

Cranbrook, B.C. - The Victoria Royals rang in the New Year with a 4-3 overtime victory over the Kootenay ICE at Western Financial Place on Monday afternoon.

Royals' forwards Dante Hannoun and D-Jay Jerome registered two points in the game (1G, 1A). Jerome was the OT hero, scoring on a breakaway at the 3:37 mark of the extra frame.

The Royals also received goals from Dino Kambeitz and Kaid Oliver. Goaltender Brock Gould stopped 26-of-29 shots.

The ICE received goals from Brad Ginnell, Davis Murray and Dallas Hines. Goaltender Jesse Makaj received first star honours, stopping 48-of-52 shots he faced.
