Abbotsford Heat News Release

Abbotsford BC - Former Vancouver Giants forward Michal Repik scored his ninth goal of the season to break a 1-1 deadlock and lift the Rochester Americans to a 2-1 win over the Abbotsford Heat in AHL action on Sunday.

After two scoreless periods, the Heat would strike first as Brett Sutter would open the scoring at 7:27 on a wrist shot from the right faceoff circle. But goals later in the third period by Ville Koistonen and Repik would lead the Americans to the victory.

Ryan Mior picks up his first win of the season for Rochester, who are now 19-5-1-0 in the year. The Heat fall to 13-11-2-2 and now will head out on a three game road trip beginning Wednesday in Hamilton.
