February 20, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rochester Americans News Release
(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team will host its first-ever "Pucks & Paws Night" on Sunday, March 10 when the Amerks host the Abbotsford Heat at 5:05 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena.
Fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to the game to enjoy the action alongside them. "Pucks & Paws" tickets are available for just $15 and include admission for both owner and dog. Season Ticket Holders can gain admission for a dog by making a $5 donation to Lollypop Farm.
A portion of the proceeds from Pucks & Paws Night will be donated to Lollypop Farm, which serves as the Humane Society of Greater Rochester and is committed to building lifelong bonds between people and animals through education, community outreach programs and the prevention of cruelty.
All fans with dogs in attendance will be seated in one of two dedicated sections for dogs, as dogs will not be permitted in other sections. Fans will be limited to bringing just one dog per person to the game.
Tickets for Pucks & Paws Night are available by visiting www.amerks.com/paws, where fans can also upload a photo of their dog to be displayed on the video board during the game, which will feature plenty of canine-friendly themed events including a pooch parade on the ice during intermission. The first 300 dogs in attendance will receive a free Pucks & Paws bandana, while information tables will be set up for Lollypop Farm and other Rochester area dog-related agencies.
Following the game, there will be a one-hour Postgame Skate on the ice at The Blue Cross Arena for fans (no dogs!). Children ages 12 and under must wear helmets, and all fans must bring their own skates as rentals will not be available. There will be a Skate Check area in the tunnel located below Sections 114-116 where fans can store their skates during the Amerks game and pick up prior to the postgame skate.
