
Amerks to Honor Members of Rochester's Bowman Cup Championship Team

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Senior Team, an all-star team made up of high school seniors, won the 2012 Bowman Cup by defeating the Buffalo Senior Team 4-3 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo at the 8th Annual Scotty Bowman Showcase on Tuesday, March 20. The Rochester Americans will recognize the team during the Amerks' home game versus the Toronto Marlies on Saturday, March 31.
Rochester received two goals from Rush Henrietta's Dalton Passmore, while Josh Marr of Batavia and Carlos Ross of Brockport also scored in the win. Goaltenders Luke Loveys (Pittsford), Mark McEvily (Fairport) and Dylan Niewiemski (Churchville-Chili) split time in net. Tuesday's victory marked the second win by a Rochester Senior Team in the eight year history of the event. Following the game, the team was presented with the Bowman Cup by the legendary Scotty Bowman, the winningest head coach in NHL history.
The Rochester Senior Team roster consisted of the following players:

The Rochester team was coached by Amerks Hall of Famer Jim Wiemer, Fairport Head Coach Chris Moretter and Jim's son, Jake.
