Amerks Sign Forward Matt Tassone to PTO

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed forward Matt Tassone to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
Tassone, 25, has appeared in 23 games with the ECHL's Elmira Jackals this season and currently leads the team in scoring with 24 points (14+10). In 149 career ECHL games with Idaho, Ontario, Las Vegas and Elmira, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound native of St. Albert, Alberta, has registered 88 points (43+45) and 357 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 13 career American Hockey League games with Lake Erie and 14 Central Hockey League games with Wichita and Arizona. Tassone was originally selected by the Dallas Stars in the sixth round (176th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
