The Americans and Thunderbirds will meet tonight for the 8th time in their 14 game season series.
Seattle has taken victory in all 7 prior meetings this season with the Americans picking up one point in overtime back on October 30th. Seattle's Kevin Korchinski has the most head-to-head points with 1 goal and 10 assists. Jordan Gustafson leads goals scored with 8 goals and 2 assists. Marc Lajoie has been Tri-City's best player with 3 goals and 1 assist ... Seattle most recently played on Tuesday at home against Kelowna. They defeated the Rockets 4-3 to end a three game losing streak.
The Americans most recently played last Saturday in Spokane when they fell 7-1 to the Chiefs. Tri-City kept the game close through the first two periods. The Chiefs were able to pull away in the final frame with four third period goals. Sam Huo scored Tri-City's lone goal on the power play in the third period. Marc Lajoie took a shot from the high slot and Huo was able to knock in the bouncing rebound. Tomas Suchanek started in net and played the majority of the game. He was relieved in net by Nick Avakyan after the seventh goal in the middle of the third period. Suchanek stopped 17 of 24 shots faced. Avakyan went on to turn aside all ten shots faced through the remainder of the game.
