ALLEN, Texas - The Allen Americans won their fourth straight game in a 4-0 victory over the Corpus Christi IceRays at the Allen Event Center tonight. Goaltender Chris Whitley made 33 saves to record his first professional shutout and earn his sixth win. The Americans now stand at 10-3-1 (21 points) and are second in the league.

The first frame ended with both teams scoreless, but the period was full of entertainment. The benches looked empty towards the end of the period when Britt Dougherty, Nathan O'Nabigon and Liam Huculak got in successive fights with Corpus Christi's Adam Powell, Morgan MacLean and Tyler Sheldrake, respectively.

Nathan O'Nabigon grabbed the first goal of the game at 1:20 in the second, and Bruce Graham added another when he flipped the puck over the left shoulder of Corpus Christi netminder Kevin Nastiuk to make it 2-0. Later, Christian Gaudet got into a fight with R.G. Flath to become the last person on his line to drop the gloves tonight. Huclak and O'Nabigon skate with him.

The next goal came in the third when Tobias Whelan scored at 3:14. Graham shot one in from the slot off a pass Bowers to record the final tally and bring the score to 4-0.

Whitley was the first star of the game for his shutout performance. Graham took the second slot with his two-goal night, and O'Nabigon was the third for his goal and fight.

The Americans are 3-1-0 against the IceRays and are the first team to win on home ice in the series.

Allen's next game is Wednesday, Nov. 25, against the Mississippi RiverKings at the Allen Event Center. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 1-866-4-GET-TIX (1-866-443-8849), going to gettix.net or stopping by the Allen Event Center box office.
