Amarillo, TX 11/22/09 - The Amarillo Gorillas could not pull off another home win Sunday night, falling 4-1 to the Corpus Christi IceRays.
Amarillo & Corpus Christi played a fluid opening frame, with Amarillo receiving the only power-play of the period. After one period, Amarillo 0 Corpus Christi 0.
Corpus Christi took advantage of their scoring chances in middle frame, as forward Chad Woollard scored his eleventh goal of the season five minutes into the period. Forward Adam Powell gave the IceRays a one-goal buffer at the 9:00 mark, notching Corpus Christi's first power-play marker in their last 10 opportunities. Amarillo could not convert on a four minute power-play in the frame. End of two, Corpus Christi 2 Amarillo 0.
The Gorillas would jump on the board for the first time when Stuart MacRae scored his eighth goal on the season in the final period of play. Amarillo mounted a charge after the MacRae goal, but to no avail. The final score Corpus Christi 4 Amarillo 1.
Stuart MacRae continues his scoring dominance, earning five points over his last 4 games (tonight's second star).Corpus Christi forward Chris Richards skated his 591st career CHL game, placing him in sole possession of 4th place in the CHL's all-time record book for games played.
