Allen Americans News Release
ALLEN, Texas - The Allen Americans will host the Texas Brahmas for the first time in the regular season this Wednesday, Nov. 11, at 7:30 p.m during a night spotlighting Support the Troops efforts.
This will be the second of nine meetings between the two clubs this season. The teams split their preseason series 1-1 before facing off for the first time in the regular season in North Richland Hills. In an exciting hockey game, the Brahmas pushed the game to overtime with 36 seconds remaining in regulation. The clubs then went into the eighth round of a shootout before the Brahmas' James Hiebert put one past Americans' goalie Chris Whitley.
Besides what is sure to be a good game, fans will have the opportunity to take pictures with the Stanley Cup before and during the game, as well as bid on specialty camouflage jerseys worn by the players at the end of the matchup. All proceeds will benefit the Men and Women of the Texas National Guard of Collin County and The Texas National Guard Family Support Foundation.
Americans' owners Doug Miller and Steve Duchesne, oil guru T. Boone Pickens and Boston's Gourmet Pizza CEO Jim Treliving have all agreed to match the amount raised.
Tickets are still available for Wednesday but are going fast. To order, fans can call 1-866-4-GET-TIX (1-866-443-8849) or go to gettix.net.
