
Americans Look to Carry Momentum into Matchup against Chiefs

The Americans will look to carry momentum from last night's overtime victory against the Silvertips into tonight's game as they take on the Chiefs in Spokane.
The two meet tonight for the tenth time in a 13 game season series. Tri-City is 2-6-1-0 against Spokane so far. The Americans are narrowly in the final playoff position with 35 points while the Royals and Chiefs are each two points back with 33 points.
Spokane has two players with nine points against the Ams, Bear Hughes (3G, 6A) and Graham Sward (1G, 8A). Tyson Greenway leads points against Spokane for Tri-City with two goals and six assists ... Rhett Melnyk has scored three of his seven goals this season against Spokane. Dwayne Jean Jr. has also been exceptional in the series with two of his three goals coming against the Chiefs this season ... Tomas Suchanek boasts a .918 save percentage against Spokane and has been in net for all three of Tri-City's victories against the Chiefs.
The Americans beat the Silvertips last night 6-5 in overtime. It was the third time this season Tri-City has defeated the Western Conference leader.
After a scoreless first period, the Americans took a 4-1 lead in the second frame with goals from Sam Huo (2), Petr Moravec, and Parker Bell. Marc Lajoie added a third period goal but the Silvertips were able to make a comeback and tie the game at five. Tri-City secured their victory 4:34 into overtime with a goal from Lukas Dragicevic, the first game-winner of his career.
Huo had a career-high five points with a point on each of the five regulation goals. He is on a four game point streak with ten points over that period (four goals, six assists) ... Lajoie is now on a career-high six game point streak eight points over that period (three goals, five assists) ... Parker Bell had a career-high four point game with one goal and three assists ... Last night was just Tri-City second overtime victory this season, the other came two games ago against Spokane.
