Red Deer, Alta. - The Regina Pats (19-25-1-1) play the second game of their three-in-three road trip tonight at 7:00 p.m., against the Red Deer Rebels (32-15-2-1) at the Peavey Mart Centrium.

The Pats are coming off a 6-3 loss to the Edmonton Oil Kings on Friday at Rogers Place, where the Pats allowed a season-high 49 shots against but came back from their largest deficit, scoring three unanswered goals to tie it up at three in the third. Dylan Guenther would score an unassisted goal for the game-winner prior to two late goals by the Oil Kings, which sealed it.

The Pats got goals from Stanislav Svozil, Zane Rowan and Tanner Howe, while Matteo Michels recorded two assists for his first career multi-point game. Drew Sim faced a career-high 49 shots, and made a career-high 43 saves in the loss. The final shots were 49-24, with the Pats going 1-for-6 on the power play and the Oil Kings going 2-for-5 on their power play.

On the other side, the Red Deer Rebels are coming off a 3-2 win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Friday, extending their winning-streak to three games, with all three being decided by two goals or less. The Rebels are tied for the second most wins in one-goal games (11-2-2-1). Today marks the final game of their five game homestand (3-1-0). The Rebels are currently third in the Eastern Conference standings with 67 points.

Their power play is what can hurt you, though, as they're man-advantage ranks fourth best in the WHL at 25.7%. A lot of their power play production has come from Ben King who has scored a league leading 18 power play goals, and is tied with Kyle Crnkovic for the most power play points with 33. Arshdeep Bains is also second in WHL scoring with 73 points, while King's 39 goals also lead the league.

HEADLINES

Tanner Howe scored his 20th of the season on Friday in Edmonton, joining Connor Bedard as Pats 16-year-olds to score 20+ this season...they are the first 16-year-old duo to score 20+ goals for the Pats in one season in franchise history...they are the first 16-year-old duo to score 20 or more goals in a season since Nolan Patrick and Brett Howden did so with the Brandon Wheat Kings in 2014-15...Howe is also the 79th 16-year-old in league history to reach at least 20 goals in a season.

Borya Valis left Friday's game with an upper body injury and did not return...the Pats have four players on the injured list as Matthew Kieper, Zack Stringer, Tye Spencer and Logan Nijhoff are off the IR...Pats forward Jakob Brook comes off the injured list today.

Raiden Zacharias made his WHL debut on Friday in Edmonton, becoming 1,239th skater (not including goaltenders) to play in a regular-season or playoff game in franchise history.

50: Points (12G-38A) this season for Ryker Evans is 3rd amongst WHL D while also 2nd in PTS/GP at 1.09...he is the only Pat' to have played in all 46 games this season...he must play the remaining 22 games to reach 200 career...he has points in eight of his last 10 games (6G-7A).
