Americans Keep Rolling, Face Missouri Again Tonight

Allen, Texas -The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, host the Missouri Mavericks tonight at 7:05 PM at Allen Event Center, wrapping up a two-game set with the Mavericks.
The Americans jumped on Missouri last night early, scoring three in the first period on their way to a 7-2 victory, their 44th win of the year. With the win last night, Allen is now just one point behind Colorado for the top spot in the Mountain Division, with a game in-hand.
"We know the opportunity is there for us if we take care of business and get a little help," said Co-Captain Gary Steffes. "However we can't worry about what they (Colorado) do. We have to make sure our game is ready for the postseason."
The Americans have nearly the same record at home (22-8-2-1) as on the road (22-9-2-1). Allen has won five straight games at Allen Event Center, which ties a season-high. The Americans have two road games and two home games remaining after tonight.
Joel Chouinard, who leads the ECHL in plus/minus with a +41, extended his point streak to a season-high seven games with an assist last night.
Chad Costello had a three-point game for Allen last evening to move him to 113 points on the season. Costello is 12 points away from his all-time high of 125, which he totaled during the 2014-2015 season.
