
Americans Host Silvertips in Return from Break

Tri-City most recently played on December 17th as they fell 6-5 against the Royals, wrapping up a back-to-back weekend in Victoria 0-1-0-1.
The Ams opened scoring with a goal from Jake Sloan, but fell behind quickly as the Royals netted three straight.
Jalen Luypen made his season debut with the Americans as he returned from an upper body injury suffered over the offseason. The 20-year-old Chicago Blackhawks prospects scored one of Tri-City's five goals and added an assist in his first game as an American.
Scoring was back-and-forth throughoutt the game, but Victoria secured their victory with two third period goals. Sloan (2), Freer, Luypen, and Ernst recorded Tri-City's goals. Nick Avakyan played in net, turning aside 23 of 29 shots faced.
Lukas Dragicevic had two primary assists, extending his historic point streak to 24-games, passing Brendan Shinnimin for Tri-City's all-time point streak record. The Ams were outshot 29-26.
Tri-City and Everett will meet tonight for the fifth time in their nine-game season series. The Ams are 3-1-0-0 against Everett this season. They most recently played each other on 12/14 in Everett when Tri-City fell 5-3.
Both teams come into tonight's game looking to get back in the win column, Everett is on a two game losing streak while the Ams are 0-2-0-1 over their last three games.
Tri-City is currently missing Tomas Suchanek and Adam Mechura who are playing with Team Czechia at World Juniors. Olen Zellweger and Silvertips Head Coach Dennis Williams are also at the tournament for Team Canada.
