
Americans Fall To Tulsa, 6-3 Despite 48-26 Shot Advantage

ALLEN, Texas- The Tulsa Oilers slipped past the Allen Americans Friday night, 6-3 in front of 4,313 fans at the Allen Event Center.
The Americans got things going early when Brian McMillin scored less than a minute into the contest. Scott Langdon and Jarret Lukin were credited with assists.
Tulsa Answered back with goals from Gary Steffes and Braden Walls less than one minute apart to take a 2-1 lead into the dressing room after one.
Chad Costello extended the Oilers lead to 3-1 early in the second period, but the Americans would answer back shortly thereafter. Jarret Lukin scored at 4:27 to make the score 3-2, and Jonathan Zion would add a power play goal just over a minute later to knot the game at 3.
In the third period, the Oilers grabbed the lead early on with a Jack Combs goal which made it 4-3 in favor of the road squad. Steffes extended the Tulsa lead to two goals at 6:45 with his second tally of the game.
Combs tallied his second of the game at 9:49 on the power play to give the Oilers a 6-3 lead, which they would keep the remainder of the period.
Tulsa goaltender Ian Keserich made 45 saves to get the win in net for the Oilers.
The Americans will skate Saturday night against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees. The puck will drop at 7:00 PM for what is a potential first round pairing for the upcoming Ray Miron Presidents' Cup Playoffs.
Allen will then host the Texas Brahmas on Tuesday, March 22nd in a game which was originally scheduled for Friday, February 4th, but was rescheduled due to weather.
