Aaron Lewicki Named to All-Rookie Team
March 18, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees News Release
The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees in conjunction with the Central Hockey League are proud to announce that forward Aaron Lewicki has been named to the CHL All-Rookie team. Lewicki leads all rookies in points, goals, and assists. Through 57 games this season Lewicki has 22 goals and 28 assists.
"Aaron has had a great rookie year. He has stepped into pro hockey right out of college and played an integral role on our team. He can be counted on in every situation. This is a well deserved honor for Aaron." said Killer Bees head coach Chris Brooks.
Lewicki was also named to the 2011 CHL All-Star team and is one of five finalists for Rookie of the Year.
Lewicki joined the Bees after training camp and started the season on the injured reserve list. Lewicki scored his first professional goal on October 29 against the Wichita Thunder in Lewicki's second game of the season. Lewicki scored what turned out to be the Cricket Mayor's Cup clinching goal against the Laredo Bucks on February 26.
The Bees take on the Odessa Jackalopes tonight at the Ector County Coliseum. The game can be heard on Real Country 102.1-FM KBUC or viewed online on CHL-TV. On Saturday the Bees will face the Allen Americans before returning home to host Odessa on Tuesday evening at the State Farm Arena.
