
Americans Fall Short in Seattle

The Americans wrapped up the weekend tonight in Seattle as they fell to the Thunderbirds 6-2. It was Tri-City's third game over three days.
Matthew Rempe opened scoring for the Thunderbirds just 2:23 into the game. Lukas Svejkovsky followed with a power play goal to extend Seattle's lead to 2-0.
Scoring resumed in the second period as Jared Davidson scored a pair of early goals. Nico Myatovic added a fifth straight goal for the Thunderbirds late in the period to carry a 5-0 lead into the final frame.
The Americans came out stronger in the third period.
Marc Lajoie put Tri-City on the board 3:04 into the period with a wrap-around goal, assisted by Petr Moravec.
A minute later, Carson Haynes took a shot from center ice which slipped past Seattle goaltender Scott Ratzlaff. It was Haynes's first WHL goal and put the Americans back within three goals with 16 minutes remaining in the game.
Tri-City's effort felt short as they were unable to find another goal.
Myatovic scored his second of the night on the empty net to secure Seattle's 6-2 victory.
The Americans will return to the Toyota Center for the G2 Construction Wiener Dog Dash night this upcoming Friday as they take on the Vancouver Giants. Click here for more game details.
