
Americans Face the Thunder Tonight on the Road

Wichita, Kansas - The Allen Americans open a weekend series with the Wichita Thunder tonight at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas.
The Americans are 8-0-2 in their last ten games, winning four in a row, and are tied with the Rapid City Rush for the most points in the Central Hockey League. Rapid City has one game in hand on Allen and resumes their weekend series against Arizona tonight.
"This is a big two games for us," said Americans Associate Coach Richard Matvichuk on the Allen Americans Radio Show on Tuesday night. "If we take care of business and get a little help from Arizona we have a chance to grab sole possession of the top spot in the league. This will be a tough weekend for us; they have been playing much better of late."
Tyler Ludwig has the longest point streak in the Central Hockey League this season at 13 games, and leads the Americans in power play goals with 8 and is a plus 8. Ludwig's 13 game point streak trails only Nino Musitelli in the Allen record book. Musitelli had a 17 game point streak in the 2009-2010 season.
The Wichita Thunder are 6-4-0 in their last ten, coming off an overtime win over Denver at home on Tuesday night . The Thunder are currently in ninth place in the CHL standings, one point behind Arizona. Tulsa has played the most games in the league at 43, and has only a two point lead over Arizona (39 games) and three points over Wichita. (40 games)
The two teams will travel to Allen after the game for a showdown on Saturday night at Allen Event Center, with a 7:05 pm puck drop.
