Tri-City Americans News Release
KENNEWICK, WA - Tri-City Americans' Governor/General Manager Bob Tory announced today that the club has selected two 17-year-old forwards, Semyon Krasheninnikov with their first pick (18th overall) and Vladislav Lukin with their second pick (78th overall), in today's 2014 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft.
"Both players possess good offensive skills, size and work ethic," explained Tory. "We wanted to continue to develop the young core of our team and create a competitive environment for jobs at training camp."
Krasheninnikov, a 6'1 172 lb. right wing of Ufa, Russia, played for Moscow CSKA Red Army of the MHL, appearing in 24 games and collecting 3 goals, 6 points and 2 penalty minutes. Krasheninnikov then appeared in 21 post-season games, picking up 3 goals, 4 points and 8 penalty minutes while helping guide Red Army to the League Finals. Red Army eventually lost to JHC Spartak in Game 7 of the MHL Championship series.
Meanwhile, Lukin, a 6'2 185 lb. right wing also from Ufa, played for Salavat Yulaev of Group A of the Russian Championship (1997). Lukin played in 32 games, collecting 19 goals, 53 points and 28 penalty minutes.
