Americans Defeated 8-3 in Spokane

Rookie goaltender Talyn Boyko made his third WHL start tonight in Spokane. The 16-year-old made 40 stops but the Americans ultimately fell 8-3 to the Chiefs.

Heading into tonight's game Eli Zummack led the Chiefs head-to-head against the Americans with four points. He added to that early with the game's first goal at 10:18. Riley Sawchuk responded for the Americans just 31 seconds later to tie the game at one.

Spokane capitalized on a Kyle Olson boarding penalty at 12:55 and began to pull away. The Chiefs scored three goals before the Americans were able to respond. Paycen Bjorklund showcased his puck-handling skills with an impressive goal at 11:48 second period, assisted by Huo (his first point as an American) and Bouchard. The Chiefs went on to extend their lead to 8-2.

Parker AuCoin put one more on the board for Tri-City ending the game with a score of 8-3. AuCoin's goal marks his 22nd of the season, surpassing his previous single-season best.
