
Americans Continue Offensive Onslaught in 8-4 Win at Tulsa

TULSA, Okla.- The first place Allen Americans continued their winning ways this afternoon with an 8-4 victory over the Tulsa Oilers at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Nino Musitelli gave the Americans an early 1-0 lead after flying into the zone and backhanding the puck past Ian Keserich 3:23 into the first period. The goal was Musitelli's seventeenth of the season.
After Tulsa's Michel Beausoleil beat Adrien LeMay to even the score at 1 1:33 later, Kip Brennan picked up Colton Yellow Horn's pass from his knees and slipped the puck past Keserich to restore the Americans early lead at 2-1.
Jack Combs scored for the Oilers to tie the score at 2 at the 12:15 mark of the period, but the Americans would fire right back and regain the lead when Judd Blackwater found the back of the net with 5:50 remaining in the first.
Chad Costello's marker 5:17 into the second period evened the score at 3 for the Oilers, but the Americans would respond once again with a shorthanded breakaway goal from Erik Adams to take a 4-3 lead.
The back and forth action continued late into the middle frame, as Chad Costello would find the back of the net again for Tulsa to even the score at 4 with 4:06 remaining. Colton Yellow Horn would then score 0:36 later to give the Americans a 5-4 lead after forty minutes of play.
The third period saw the Americans put the game away with goals from David Strathman, Bruce Graham and Judd Blackwater. Graham's tally at 3:07 of the period was his seventh goal in the past four games, which has moved him into a tie for 7th on the CHL scoring leaderboard.
Adrien LeMay finished the night with 27 saves on 31 shots and is now 10-2-1 in net for the Americans.
With the win, the Americans improve to 23-6-1 on the season and still lead both the Berry Conference and the Central Hockey League with 47 points. With the 8 goal performance, the Americans scored 24 goals in three games over the weekend. The Americans 3 game road trip will continue on Friday night with an 8:05 faceoff against the Colorado Eagles. Allen will then travel to Rapid City for a tilt with the Rush on Saturday night at 8:05.
