Brahmas Make Eagles Fly the Coop

North Richland Hills, TEXAS (January 2)- Fast and furious was the name of the game as the Brahmas faced the Eagles for their first home contest of the new year as they beat the Eagles 5-2.

Greg Hogeboom was the first to strike for the Brahmas only 2:50 into the first period as he fired one past Kyle Jones to put the Brahmas on the board 1-0, with assists from Jason Deitsch and Chad Woollard. The lead didn ‚¬â„¢t last long as the Eagles Riley Nelson answered back to beat Kevin Beech at the 12:54 mark to tie the game 1-1.

The second period saw action between from both teams as the Brahmas retook the lead when Chris Moran hammered one past Jones to give the Brahmas a 2-1 advantage. Once again, the Eagles evened the score with a goal from Adam Hogg with 10:05 left in the second.

The Brahmas came out quickly in the third when Moran scored his second of the game and as he put a bullet past the Eagle goaltender to regain the Brahmas lead of 3-2. The Brahmas offense continued to hammer at the Eagles and with 5:54 left, Chad Woollard added a goal to his assist and extended the Brahma lead 4-2.

Less than fifty seconds after the Woollard goal, Alex Curran scored the Brahmas fifth goal of the game with an assist from Sean Hurley to pull away from the Eagles for a final score of 5-2. Beech had 29 saves for the win.

The Brahmas completed a two game sweep of the Eagles in season series, with the Brahmas outscoring Colorado 9-3 including the 4-1 win on December 4th.

Ten different Brahmas had points in the contests with Moran leading the way with a pair of tallies.
