
Americans Announce Leadership Group for 2023-24 Season

Kennewick, WA - Tri-City Americans general manager Bob Tory announced the team's leadership group for the 2023-24 season today, including 2003-born defenseman Alex Serraglio being named the 34th captain in franchise history. Tyson Greenway (2003, F), Jake Sloan (2004, F), Lukas Dragicevic (2005, D), and Ethan Peters (2003, D) will serve as alternate captains.
Serraglio, from Langley, B.C., is entering his third full season with the Americans. He set career highs offensively last season with 25 points (4-21-25) while suiting up for all 68 regular season games. For his career Serraglio has posted 38 points (5-33-38) in 143 games.
Serraglio takes over the captaincy from Marc Lajoie who was traded to the Edmonton Oil Kings on May 11.
Greenway, from St. Albert, Alta, has spent his entire WHL career with the Americans after being drafted 80th overall in the 2018 WHL Prospect Draft. In 207 career games Greenway has recorded 83 points (41-42-83).
Sloan, from Leduc County, Alta, was drafted 55th overall by the Americans in the 2019 WHL Prospects Draft and has posted 102 career points (44-58-102) in 137 games. He scored his first career hat trick in last Saturday's 6-4 win over the Prince George Cougars.
Dragicevic, from Richmond, B.C., was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft and is entering his third season in Tri-City. In 136 career games with the Americans Dragicevic has racked up 107 points (26-81-107). After leading the Americans in scoring last season, the only defenseman in the Canadian Hockey League to lead his team in scoring, he was drafted 57th overall by the Seattle Kraken in the 2023 NHL Draft.
Peters, from Moose Jaw, Sask., was acquired from the Edmonton Oil Kings on January 9, 2022. In 33 games with the Americans Peters has scored seven points (2-5-7) and has skated in 152 games over his WHL career. He helped the Edmonton Oil Kings win the WHL championship in 2021-22.
The Americans next game comes Saturday in Spokane before the home opener on October 7 against the Everett Silvertips.
