Gary SouthShore 5, St. Paul 2

The Gary SouthShore RailCats defeated the visiting St. Paul Saints 5-2 in front of a crowd of 7,732, the largest crowd in U.S. Steel Yard history. The RailCats immediately gave their fans something to cheer about in the bottom of the first when RF Cristian Guerrero batted in a run, and 3B Rico Washington hit an RBI single. RailCats CF Mike Massaro singled in a run in the second inning, and Washington scored a run on an error in the third inning to increase Gary SouthShore's lead to 4-1. RailCats reliever James Baker worked a scoreless 1.1 innings in relief and was credited with the win, and Andy Shipman pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn the save. In addition to his RBI, Massaro went a perfect 5-for-5 at the plate with a run scored. For the Saints, 2B Adam Frost had two RBIs in the loss.

Sioux Falls 13, Winnipeg 12 (11 Innings)

Sioux Falls CF Reggie Abercrombie had seven RBIs and hit the game-winning home run as the Pheasants overcame a 9-0 deficit to defeat the Winnipeg Goldeyes 13-12 in extra innings. The Goldeyes plated a run in the first and second inning to go up 2-0 and then struck for seven runs in the top of the fourth to open up a 9-0 lead. In the seven-run inning, Goldeyes LF Jon Weber had three RBIs. The Pheasants responded with five runs in the bottom half of the inning with Abercrombie and 1B Brandon Sing each hitting two-run homers in the inning. Winnipeg plated three runs in the seventh, but Sioux Falls responded with four runs in the home half of the inning, including Abercrombie's three-RBI double to cut Winnipeg's lead to 12-9. In the bottom of the ninth, the Pheasants rallied with three runs to tie the game and force extra innings. In the bottom of the eleventh, Abercrombie hit a walk-off solo home run, his second homer of the game and his seventh RBI of the game. Pheasants reliever Brandon Rapoza was credited with the win for his three scoreless innings worked in relief.

Lincoln 6, Sioux City 1

Lincoln SS Curt Smith and C Pat Trettel each homered to lead the Saltdogs to a 6-1 victory against the Sioux City Explorers. Smith went 1-for-4 at the plate with a homer and three RBIs, and Trettel had a homer and two RBIs. Also for the Saltdogs, DH Rafael Alvarez had two hits in four at-bats with an RBI and a run scored. Lincoln starting pitcher Julio Medina surrendered just one run on six hits in six innings pitched to earn the win. Medina fanned four hitters and walked two. For the Explorers, 1B Wally Backman went 1-for-4 with an RBI in the loss.

Grand Prairie 8, Amarillo 6

Trailing 6-3, the Grand Prairie AirHogs rallied for five runs in the bottom of the eighth to earn an 8-6 win over the Amarillo Sox. AirHogs 1B John Alonso went 3-for-4 at the plate with a home run, a double and two RBIs, and LF Stephen Douglas went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in and a run scored. Right fielder Greg Porter also chipped in with two RBIs for Grand Prairie, who opened a 3-0 lead in the game with a three-run bottom of the fourth. Amarillo plated two runs in the top of the fifth and notched a three-run seventh inning to take a 5-3 lead. Sox SS Jason White had three hits and four RBIs for Amarillo as the Sox added an insurance run in the top of the eighth to take a 6-3 lead. Grand Prairie responded with a five-run bottom half of the eighth to retake the lead, and then closer Jon Hunton worked a scoreless ninth to earn the save. Relief pitcher Matt Sartor earned the win for Grand Prairie, pitching one inning and allowing one run.

Fargo-Moorhead 12, Kansas City 0

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks used a six-run fourth inning and a five-run eighth inning to rout the visiting Kansas City T-Bones 12-0. In front of a crowd of 5,108 at Newman Outdoor Field, the RedHawks opened up a 1-0 lead when 1B Jesse Hoorelbeke hit an RBI single in the bottom of the first. Fargo-Moorhead struck for six runs in the fourth inning as C Todd Jennings and LF Jonathan Wyatt each hit two-RBI singles. Jennings collected three RBIs in the game, Wyatt went 4-for-5 at the plate with two RBIs and Hoorelbeke went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs and two runs scored. RedHawks starting pitcher Trevor Longfellow pitched 6.1 scoreless innings to earn the win. Longfellow struck out 11 hitters and scattered six hits in the game. For Kansas City, CF Keanon Simon had three hits in the loss.

Fort Worth 15, Shreveport-Bossier 1

The Fort Worth Cats tallied 15 runs on 24 hits as they rolled past Shreveport-Bossier for a 15-1 win. Cats 2B Aljay Davis had a team-high four RBIs in the game, including a two-RBI double in the bottom of the sixth. Davis also scored three times in the game. Fort Worth 3B Will Calhoun went 5-for-6 at the plate with three RBIs and a run scored, and CF Clifton Thomas and LF Steve Vranau each tallied two RBIs. Cats starting pitcher Wade Mackey earned his eighth win of the season and allowed just one run on four hits in seven innings pitched. Captains DH Palmer Karr Jr. batted in Shreveport-Bossier's only run in the loss.

Wichita 19, El Paso 0 (Game in Progress)

This game is still in progress with Wichita leading El Paso 19-0 in the bottom of the eighth inning.
