Sioux City scored six first-inning runs and pounded out 17 hits, cruising to a 13-6 victory over Sioux Falls. Every player in the Explorers' lineup, including both pinch hitters used, had at least one hit; CF Ryan Ruiz led the way by going 3-for-4, while four other Sioux City hitters had two hits. Kieran Mattison earned his first victory of the season, giving up three runs on seven hits in six innings of work. RF Chad Hermansen went 3-for-3 with a two-run home run for the Canaries.

Lincoln 10, Shreveport 3

Down 3-0, Lincoln scored ten unanswered runs to defeat Shreveport 10-3. The Sports got on the board with a three-run first inning that included a two-run double from 1B Justin Humphries, but the Saltdogs came back with one in the second on a 2B Josh Patton solo blast, two in the fourth, three in the fifth and three more in the sixth. C Kevin Sullivan went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and two runs scored for Lincoln; Patton, CF Cory Harris, LF Jose Torres, and 3B Paul Powell added two hits apiece for the Saltdogs.

Coastal Bend 7, Pensacola 6

DH Jeff Ontiveros' ninth-inning RBI single was the difference as Coastal Bend won their sixth in a row, edging Pensacola 7-6. The game was a wild one early, as the two teams were tied at 6 after three innings, but both teams' relief corps were relatively effective; the Aviators' bullpen allowed just two hits in five innings of work, while the Pelicans' Josh Courage held Coastal Bend hitless over three innings. 2B Matt Creighton went 3-for-5 for the Aviators, while C Jose Yepez was 3-for-4 with two doubles for Pensacola.

St. Paul 8, St. Joe 2

St. Paul built a big lead early and finished the sweep of St. Joe with an 8-2 victory. The Saints got two in the first on an RBI double from 1B Brian Becker and an RBI single from DH Adam Olow, and then added three more in the second. It would prove to be more than enough for St. Paul starter Justin Lord, who gave up one earned run on six hits in 6.1 innings for his second win of the season. Saints 3B Victor Rodriguez went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an RBI single; for the Blacksnakes, LF Terrell Merriman was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
