Wichita 1, El Paso 0
Wichita got a seven-hit combined shutout from starter Kevin Angelle and two relievers to close out El Paso 1-0 in a tight pitchers' duel. Angelle allowed just six hits in seven innings before handing the game to relievers Cephas Howard and Dustin Cameron, who earned his first save with the Wingnuts. Wichita's only offense came in the fourth inning when LF Raul Gonzalez drove in RF Jorge Cortes on a single. That was the only blemish for El Paso starter Shaun Ellis, who pitched the complete game and allowed just the one run on six hits.
Shreveport-Bossier 11, Pensacola 2
The Captains rallied for seven runs in the opening frame and never let Pensacola back in an 11-2 beating. Shreveport-Bossier sent 11 batters to the plate in the first and chased Pelicans starter Dane De Valk while jumping out to a 7-0 lead. From there, the Captains continued to build onto their advantage on a three-run homer by DH Christopher Garcia in the fourth. On the mound, starter Cody Kelley didn't allow a run and surrendered just four hits in seven innings to earn his second win of the season.
Sioux Falls 4, Sioux City 2
Sioux Falls rode another strong start from Chris Salberg and more production from the middle of its lineup to down Sioux City 4-2. Despite struggling with his command, Salberg improved to 11-1 by allowing just two runs and five hits in six innings while striking out eight. Three relievers didn't allow a run over the final three frames. Offensively, a solo home run from CF Reggie Abercrombie and an RBI single by C Gus Milner accounted for the Pheasants' two-run fourth, and DH Beau Torbert's two-run double an inning later put them in the lead for good.
St. Paul 10, Lincoln 6
St. Paul 2B Hector Bernal cleared the bases with a single and an error by Lincoln RF Rafael Alvarez as part of a six-run eighth inning that pushed the Saints to a 10-6 victory. St. Paul trailed 6-4 heading into the eighth, and evened the score with a bases loaded walk and an RBI single by LF Josh Alley. Bernal then knocked in two of his five runs on the evening to give the Saints a lead they never gave back. Out of the bullpen, St. Paul's Joe DAlessandro picked up the win by allowing one earned run over 1.2 innings, and Jon Pelfka worked a scoreless ninth.
