Winnipeg 8, Cleburne 7 - Box Score
The Winnipeg Goldeyes (4-1) rallied from an early four-run deficit and held off a late surge to top the Cleburne Railroaders 8-7.
The Railroaders (3-2) moved out in front with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first thanks to a two-run home run from 3B Chase Simpson (2-for-4, 4 RBI). Cleburne added two more when SS Jared Reaves and RF Hunter Clanin both scored after a single from C Logan Trowbridge (2-for-4). But the Goldeyes came roaring back in the fifth as DH James Harris (2-for-4) blasted a three-run home run and back-to-back run scoring singles from LF Josh Romanski (2-for-5) and RF Willy Garcia put Winnipeg in front. Romanski scored in the next at-bat thanks to an error.
3B Wes Darvill (2-for-4, 3 runs) scored in the sixth as C Kevin Garcia grounded out to add to the lead but 1B Kenny Meimerstorf answered in the bottom half with a solo home run. Darvill scored what proved to be a crucial run in the eighth on an error to give Winnipeg a three-run lead.
Simpson homered again in the ninth, his third of the year, to pull the Railroaders within one but a ground out to first base in the next at-bat ended the contest.
Milwaukee 5, Fargo-Moorhead 3 - Box Score
The Milwaukee Milkmen (3-2) took the first game of their three-game set with the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks 5-3 Monday evening at Newman Outdoor Field.

The Milkmen took the lead as SS Sam Dexter (2-for-4) scored on an error by the pitcher and Milwaukee never relinquished. Dexter singled home 2B Cesar Valera in the next inning to push the lead to two runs. The Redhawks pulled back within a run when CF Devan Ahart drew a bases-loaded walk but the Milkmen added an insurance run in the top of the ninth.
