El Paso 14, Wichita 9

Trailing 8-5 after four innings, the El Paso Diablos scored nine runs over the next four innings, including six in the eighth, to rally past the Wichita Wingnuts, 14-9. Rightfielder Welington Dotel and 1B Fernando Valenzuela had huge games for El Paso as they went a combined 6-for-9 at the plate with three runs scored and four RBI. Diablos 3B Reid Fronk chipped in with three hits of his own along with three runs scored and three RBI. El Paso reliever Justin Harper notched his fourth win after throwing a scoreless eighth inning and allowing only a hit. For Wichita in the loss, 2B Jake Kahaulelio had a 3-for-4 game with two doubles, two runs scored and a RBI.

Lincoln 7, Sioux Falls 1

The Lincoln Saltdogs scored five runs in the fourth inning to open up a tight game and would go on to beat the Sioux Falls Pheasants, 7-1. Four Lincoln hitters had two-hit games, including LF Chris McMurray who went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBI. Saltdogs SS Wilberto Ortiz chipped in with his third home run of the season, a three-run shot in the five-run fourth inning. Lincoln starting pitcher Ryan Sheldon notched his sixth win of the season after tossing seven solid innings. Sheldon allowed one earned run on three hits with six strikeouts.
