New Jersey 5, Wichita 1

The New Jersey Jackals scored two runs in the first inning and another run in the second inning to take an early 3-0 lead and would cruise from there to a 5-1 win over the Wichita Wingnuts. Jackals DH Francisco Carabello went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI while INF Gaetano Giunta and SS Angel Berroa collected two hits apiece. New Jersey starter Kyle Greenwalt tossed a solid game en route to his first win of the season. Greenwalt went 5 1/3 innings allowing an earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts. For Wichita in defeat, 3B Jared McDonald hit a solo home run.

Sioux City 9, Lincoln 8

Sioux City scored two runs in the eighth inning to take the lead for good as the Explorers edged the Lincoln Saltdogs, 9-8. Four Sioux City hitters had two hits each, including RF Michael Lang who went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and a run batted in. Explorers reliever Eddie De La Cruz was the winning pitcher as he gave up three runs, one earned, on two hits in two innings pitched. Sioux City's Chris Bodishbaugh threw a scoreless ninth to pickup his second save.

Kansas City 5, Gary SouthShore 3

CF Gus Milner and SS Jose Duran each had three hits and scored a run as the Kansas City T-Bones beat the Gary SouthShore RailCats, 5-3. Kansas City C Bubby Williams and 3B Devin Goodwin each chipped with two hits of their own with Williams driving in a run. T-Bones starting pitcher Brian Grening notched the win as he tossed 6 2/3 innings giving up two earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts. RailCats DH Adam Klein, 3B Rico Washington and LF David Cooper each had two hits.

Laredo 5, Winnipeg 1

A sensational start by Laredo starter Mark Haynes leads the Lemurs to a 5-1 win over the Winnipeg Goldeyes. Haynes went six shutout innings allowing only one hit and one walk with nine strikeouts. He had a no-hitter through 5 1/3 innings until he gave up a hit to Winnipeg's David Narodowski. The Lemurs scored single runs in five of the first six innings while Winnipeg plated their only run off Laredo's Jon Hunton in the ninth inning. This was the Goldeyes first loss of the season.

Fargo-Moorhead 13, Amarillo 8

The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks scored six runs in the third inning to overcome an early 4-2 deficit and defeat the Amarillo Sox, 13-8. CF Nic Jackson had a terrific game at the plate for Fargo-Moorhead as he went 4-for-6 with a home run, two runs scored and five RBI. Jackson's home run was one of four the RedHawks hit on the night. LF Aharon Eggleston also had four hits and scored three runs for Fargo-Moorhead. RedHawks reliever Alex Rivers was the winner as he gave four earned runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings pitched.

Grand Prairie 3, El Paso 2

In front of an announced crowd of 7,101, the Grand Prairie AirHogs rallied with a run in the eighth inning and a run in the ninth to beat the El Paso Diablos, 3-2. AirHogs INF Chris McMurray went 2-for-4 while 1B Trent Lockwood had a 1-for-2 night and scored a run. Grand Prairie reliever Justin Dowdy picked up the win tossing a scoreless ninth. For the Diablos in defeat, LF Brian Joynt went 2-for-2 at the plate with a run scored and a RBI.
