Madison Capitols News Release

This week, our alumni update focuses on former Caps' forward Tyler Haskins. The Rochester, Minnesota, native was a part of the 2021-22 Eastern Conference Championship squad. Haskins currently plays with the University of Denver, members of the NCHC.

Prior to his junior career, Haskins laced his skates up with the Chicago Mission AAA program. His play at that level earned him being the second round selection for Madison during the 2019 Phase I (Future's) Draft. Haskins' first action with the Caps came during 2019-20 season where he played in three games, still primarily skating with the Mission AAA program.

During the 2020-21 season, Haskins was selected by Sioux Falls in the dispersal draft. Playing in 51 games for the Stampede, he was able to put up 27 points, including nine goals. He would make his return to the Caps lineup the following season.

The 2021-22 season was a magical one in Madison for the Capitols. High point recorders were found all over the lineup with only Muskegon having more players with 40+ points during that season in the USHL. Haskins was one of those eight players recording 40+ points during the 2021-22 season registering 45 points in 52 games. He would add another seven on in the Clark Cup playoffs as the Caps went on to win the Eastern Conference title.

Since his time with Madison, Haskins has moved out west to play for the reigning national champion Denver Pioneers. He has played in ten games for the Pioneers who currently rank in the top five in the country.
