Montreal Alouettes News Release

Montreal, September 24, 2013 - The Montreal Alouettes announced on Tuesday that the team would host its 2013 home playoff game downtown at Percival Molson Stadium, pending a first- or second-place finish in the CFL's East Division.

"The uncertainty surrounding potentially holding the game at Olympic Stadium in the event of a snowfall weighed in on our decision to hold it at Percival Molson Stadium," explained Alouettes C.O.O. Mark Weightman. "As the playoff scheduling in the CFL is very tight, postponing a game of this magnitude would severely impact the remainder of the post-season."

"In recent years, many of our fans have expressed an interest in attending a home playoff game with the same unique atmosphere of our regular season home games, and we hope we can offer them this experience in November. Our players and coaching staff are working hard to finish the season strong, with the goal of hosting an East Final or East Semi-Final."

The Alouettes' ticket to the post-season is still to be determined as Montreal is currently battling the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts for the right to host a home playoff game.

The Alouettes and Ticats are scheduled to meet in a pair of decisive games before the conclusion of the regular season, while Montreal will also play its regular season finale November 1 opposite the Argos at Rogers Centre.

Depending on the final standings, the Alouettes would host a home playoff game on either November 10 for an East Semi-Final, or November 17 for an East Final.
