Montreal, April 22, 2002 - The Montreal Alouettes would like to offer their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of legendary star football player John "Red" O'Quinn who passed away on last Sunday, April 21.
O'Quinn played in 110 games with the Alouettes between 1952 and 1959. The receiver caught 377 passes for gains of 5679 yards and 24 touchdowns from 1954 to 1959, as statistical records began to be kept. He set several records in the 1954 Grey Cup game as he caught 13 passes for 316 yards.
John "Red" O'Quinn will be remembered by all Alouettes' fans. He was 76.
