
Allen, Shaw Named American Association Players Of The Week

DURHAM, NC - Pointstreak, the official statistician of the American Association, has selected Fort Worth Cats OF John Allen and Gary SouthShore RailCats RHP Scott Shaw as the Pointstreak Batter and Pitcher of the Week.
Allen hit .452 with three home runs and 17 RBIs in seven games. The resident of Flower Mound, TX scored nine runs, collected 14 hits, including four doubles and had a .871 slugging percentage. This past Friday and Saturday against the El Paso Diablos, Allen had seven hits, scored three runs and drove in six. On the season, the 29-year-old is batting .292 with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs.
Shaw tossed a complete game shutout against the Shreveport-Bossier Captains on Saturday. The 24-year-old allowed only a walk and three hits while fanning 11 batters. Shaw is 7-3 on the year with an earned run average of 4.62 in 85 2/3 innings pitched.
