Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings are very proud to congratulate team Captain Mark Pysyk and leading scorer Michael St. Croix on their selections as Eastern Conference second team All Stars for 2011-12. This is the first time in modern franchise history that any Oil Kings player has been selected for the honour. General Manager Bob Green was also selected as the Eastern conference candidate for the Lloyd Saunders Memorial Trophy awarded to the WHL's Executive of the Year.

The winners of the WHL awards along with the WHL Player of the Year will be announced at the 2012 WHL Awards Luncheon in Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, May 2nd, 2012.

In other news the Oil Kings were voted into the Top five in the BMO Mastercard Top Ten this week for the first time in modern franchise history. Edmonton was ranked 4th in the country, maintaining a spot in the CHL Top ten for the past 14 weeks. This was the final BMO Top Ten ranking of the 2011-12 regular season. The Oil Kings will also be recipients of the 2011-12 Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy awarded to the WHL regular season champions. The 2012 Oil Kings Playoffs are presented by ATB Financial. The Oil Kings 2011-12 season is presented by JLT, Insurance & Risk Management.
