Nashville SC News Release

SHVILLE - After missing the beginning of the season through injury, and struggling to find minutes on the field through the first nine matches of the season, Nashville Soccer Club forward Alan Winn got his first start of the 2019 campaign on Saturday against Swope Park Rangers and then earned another start in the club's Second Round U.S. Open Cup match on Tuesday night.

He made both count as he combined for two goals and two assists in the two matches, and was named the Man of the Match after Nashville's 3-2 win in the Open Cup in Murfreesboro. In that win on Tuesday, Alan was on the scoresheet for all three goals for Nashville, scoring one and assisting on the other two.

"I feel like I scored two goals in two games, that's it," said Winn. "I just have to wait for the next game and hopefully I can score again. My job is to score and to give assists, so my form is to do that every game."

The speedy winger became just the third player in Nashville SC history to be involved in three goals in a single match, after forward Daniel Rios bagged two goals and an assist four days earlier to become the second. Michael Reed's three-assist match last season was the first such instance of the feat.

Winn had four goals and three assists in 22 starts across all competitions as a Rookie in 2018, providing a spark at points during the season. With two goals and two assists in just two starts in 2019, Winn seems to be on pace to improve on those numbers.
