Akron RubberDucks News Release

The Aeros made a series of roster moves today, receiving RHP Joe Borowski on a Major League rehab assignment, getting RHP Edward "Bubbie" Buzachero from Class AAA Buffalo and transferring RHP T.J. Burton to Class A Mahoning Valley.

Borowski went on the disabled list April 15th with a strained right triceps after leading the American League in saves last year. He converted 45 of 53 save opportunities (84.9%) and finished just one save shy of tying Jose Mesa's club record of 46 saves set in 1995. Borowski was originally drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 32nd round in 1989, and made his big league debut with Baltimore in 1995. He has also appeared at the Major League level with the Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, and Florida Marlins. He is expected to work the 8th inning for Akron tonight.

Buzachero began this season with Akron and had a 2.08 ERA in four games before being promoted to Buffalo April 15th. He made nine relief appearances with the Bisons and was 1-2 with a 4.49 ERA. Buzachero was obtained by Cleveland in a 2006 trade with Toronto in exchange for Brian Tallet.

Burton had appeared in 15 games for the Aeros, and was 0-2 with a 4.67 ERA. He had allowed just two earned runs in his last seven outings, although opponents were hitting .342 against him for the season.
