
AirHogs Win Rubber Game over Wingnuts

GRAND PRAIRIE, TX- The Wichita Wingnuts (45-23) lost 7-3 to the Grand Prairie AirHogs (36-30) at QuikTrip Park on Sunday evening.
Andres Rodriguez hit a two-out, three-run home run in the bottom of fifth inning to give the AirHogs a 5-3 lead. Brandon Pinckney started the rally with a two out walk and went to third on Brian Myrow's double into the right field corner.
Walks to Myrow and Rodriguez in the bottom of the seventh led to a two-out, two-run single to left from Austin Newell that broke the game open at 7-3.
With runners on first and second and one out in the bottom of the second, Rian Kiniry doubled to right-center to score Newell with the game's first run. Ryan Pineda followed with a sacrifice fly to left field that made it 2-0.
Wichita responded in the top of the third. Ryan Khoury singled to left leading off and eventually scored on a two-out, line drive single to left from C.J. Ziegler.
The Wingnuts took the lead in the fourth. Abel Nieves tripled to right-center leading off and scored two batters later on a triple to left-center from Madison Beaird. Beaird scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch.
Justin Klipp started and took the loss for the Wingnuts, allowing five earned runs on eight hits over four and two-thirds innings. Klipp walked two and struck out two.
Derek Blacksher earned the win for Grand Prairie, allowing three earned runs on seven hits in six innings. Blacksher walked two and struck out four.
Nick Walters and Andrew Aizenstadt each worked a scoreless inning of relief for Wichita.
