AirHogs Drop Red Hot Finale Against Diablos

Grand Prairie- In a closely fought finale of the three-game series the Grand Prairie AirHogs (46-41) lost 9-6 Sunday night at QuikTrip Park against the El Paso Diablos. With the loss the AirHogs fall into a tie with the Laredo Lemurs in a tight race for the South Division title. The Amarillo Sox are also in on the race only a game back from both teams. In the game Jorge Jimenez went 2-for-4 scoring once. Ryan Pineda also went 2-for-4 in the loss. Angel Flores went 1-for-4 driving in two runs and scoring once himself. Rian Kiniry drove in one run and scoring once as he went 1-for-2. Austin Newell, Andres Rodriguez and Chad Mozingo each picked up an RBI with Mozingo scoring once as well.

Newest AirHog Curtis Camilli started in his first game with the AirHogs going 6.1 innings allowing four runs on six hits. Camilli picked up the loss in the game but struck out two Diablos. Boomer Potts couldn't register an out allowing a run and walking one. Jakob Cunningham got the AirHogs out of the seventh inning allowing two hits and two runs. Stephen Nikonchik and Chase Johnson closed out the game. Nikonchik allowed one run on one hit and struck out one Diablo. Johnson allowed one run on two hits, striking out two of the batters he faced.

The AirHogs will get Monday evening off and then return to action Tuesday night at 7:05 P.M. against the Amarillo Sox at QuikTrip Park. As the playoff race comes to a conclusion the next three-game series against the Sox proves to be an important series.
