Agua Caliente Clippers Snaps Rio Grande Valley's Streak

Hidalgo, Texas, - The NBA G League's Rio Grande Valley Vipers, affiliate of the Houston Rockets, saw their 13 game winning streak come to an end after losing 109-110 to Agua Caliente Clippers.

Clippers' Tyrone Wallace led both teams in scoring with 24 points. RJ Hunter led the Vipers in scoring with 23 points. Briante Weber collected a double-double with 13 assists and 12 points.

The Vipers started the first quarter shooting well going 14-of-25. Tyler Lydon's eight points helped RGV outscore Agua Caliente 30-21 in the opening quarter. The Clippers started cutting away to the Vipers' lead finishing the first half down 53-47. The Vipers went the first half without scoring a three pointer.

The Clippers stole the lead from the Vipers in the fourth quarter. With 6:11 minutes remaining in the game, the Clippers held a nine-point lead over the Vipers. Tyler Lydon scored a three-pointer to bring the game closer. Agua Caliente responded with a dunk from LaDontae Henton. RJ Hunter scored eight points in a 45 second span to bring the two teams even.

In the last minute of action, Tyrone Wallace scored a layup to momentarily give the Clippers the lead. After getting fouled, Chinanu Onuaku scored his first free throw but missed his second. With 3.8 seconds left in the game, Demetrius Jackson was fouled as well. Jackson scored both free throws to put the Vipers on top. Tyrone Wallace would score off a dunk as time was about to expire to give Agua Caliente the win.

The Rio Grande Valley Vipers and Agua Caliente Clippers will face each other again on Thursday, December 14. After that game, the Vipers visit Austin to take on the Spurs on Friday night.
