CARSON, CA - The omission of Kekuta Manneh in Vancouver 18-man gameday roster on Monday created a little bit of a buzz on social media, but Carl Robinson said after the match that it was just a "coach's decision" and that the youngster will be "back involved next week.""The message to the group is 'Listen. We're together," Robinson told reporters. "We're a team. When you get your chance, take your chance."

When asked if Manneh's absence had anything to do with a possible transfer, Robinson's answer was a swift "no, no it doesn't."

Despite the 2-0 loss, Robinson was pleased with his team's play against a Galaxy side that hasn't lost at home this season. The 'Caps outshot the home team 26-9.

"We got into some great positions," Robinson acknowledged, "but we didn't have that quality in and around the penalty box, which was the disappointing thing from a very positive performance."

Prior to Monday's match, the last time Whitecaps FC were shut out in MLS competition was April 16. They have 27 goals on the season, fourth best in the Western Conference, but the summer transfer window is now open and the 'Caps insist they're always looking to strengthen.

"I think you're always looking at the top end of your pitch," Robinson said when asked if the striker position was on their shopping list. "Games are won and lost at the top end and if you can't put the ball into the back of the net, and up until today we've done very well at it, but we need to be better. We know that."

Despite the loss, Whitecaps FC players echoed their coach's sentiments, saying the 'Caps could still take away positives from their overall play, and especially the buildup in the final third.

"We had our chances, but that's football," Christian Bolaî=B1os said after the match. "LA created less chances, but they scored. You have to keep going because we played a good game."

Whitecaps FC host second-place Colorado Rapids on Saturday at BC Place (7 p.m. PT on TSN1 and TSN 1040 - tickets still available) - their first of four straight home matches including the July 19 friendly vs. Crystal Palace FC.
