Macon Knights News Release

MACON, Ga. – The Macon Knights' 2005 schedule was released today by the League office of arenafootball2. The Knights will kickoff the season Friday, April 1st by hosting the defending ArenaCup Champion Florida Firecats.

Macon vs. Florida is one of the most storied rivalries in arenafootball2 history. Over the past three years either the Knights or the Firecats have represented the American Conference in the ArenaCup and taken turns knocking each other out of the playoffs three out of the last four years. Macon trails Florida 4-5 in the all-time series, but the Knights defeated the Firecats just two months before the Firecats won the ArenaCup last season.

Another showcase game will be the Knights home finale against the South Georgia Wildcats. The Wildcats will play their first season in Albany, Ga. after spending three seasons in Fayetteville, N.C. (known as the Cape Fear Wildcats). With less than two hours separating the teams, this intra-state showdown is sure to become one of the af2's most heated rivalries.

Don't miss the action of eight great home games as the Knights kickoff the 2005 season on Friday, April 1st against the Florida Firecats. Season ticket packages are on sale now starting at just $56. For more information call the Knights ticket office at (478) 314-3000 or visit www.MaconKnights.com.
